Still Dirty After Mopping? It’s Probably Build-Up
When you’ve scrubbed, mopped and tried everything but your tiles still look dirty - we show you how to actually remove the build-up causing the problem.
🧽 25cm Magic Eraser = more surface coverage, making floor build-up faster and easier to remove.
🧽 EDUCATIONAL FACT:
Magic Erasers work through micro-abrasion, helping physically lift stubborn grime and built-up residue from smooth surfaces. Pairing it with SHYN Degreaser is even more effective because the degreaser helps break down and loosen greasy build-up first, while the Magic Eraser helps lift it away from the surface.
🧱 Grooves need the right pad
A Magic Eraser works best on smooth, flat surfaces, but it won’t reach properly into deep grooves or textured tiles. For those surfaces, use the Power Scrub Pad - its fibres can work into the crevices and lift out trapped grime.
🧼 Mopping doesn’t always remove grime
Sometimes dirt is stuck to the surface and needs to be loosened and agitated before it can be removed properly.
💧 Always remove the residue
Once the grime has been loosened, it needs to be picked up with clean water and microfibre - otherwise it can dry back onto the floor and make it look dirty again.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Magic Eraser on every type of floor?
Can I use the Magic Eraser on every type of floor?
No. It works best on smooth, hard, non-creviced surfaces. Always patch test first on delicate, polished or coated finishes.
Can the Magic Eraser pad be washed and reused?
Can the Magic Eraser pad be washed and reused?
Yes. 💧 Rinse it thoroughly after each use, or machine wash on a gentle cycle with no fabric softener, then allow it to air dry. If the sponge becomes stained, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s dirty or no longer effective - staining is normal with use. If it stains simply cut off the top layer.
Replace it when it becomes thin, torn, brittle or stops cleaning effectively.
How long will the Magic Eraser pad last?
How long will the Magic Eraser pad last?
It depends on the surface and how much build-up you’re removing. Smooth surfaces will generally give you more uses, while rough or textured surfaces will wear the pad down much faster.
1 25cm magic eraser used on a smooth surface would give you 80-100 square metres, on a rough surface, maybe half.
Do I need to use SHYN Degreaser with it?
Do I need to use SHYN Degreaser with it?
Not always. Start with water. For heavier grime or built-up residue, apply SHYN Degreaser first, then agitate with the wet Magic Eraser.
